It's really awesome to see some of the less successful sketches you drew while in the process. Nonetheless, the lot of these are really fantastic and the cougar heads are all so stylish and bold and effective for a mascot. Thanks for sharing!

thanx for noticing..... I jumped @ this gig b/c the pay was good but also the subject was right up my alley and they came to me knowing my strength w/animal drawing.
Its been nice to pick and choose what I want to work on when it comes to side gigs..

What I find nice is how closely your sketches reflect the attitude and behavior of the cougar itself. It's easy to just draw a snarling "mascot" animal with its teeth hanging out, and a lot more difficult to actually capture the essence of the specific animal.

You definitely have the personality that makes a cougar separate from other big cats. The drawings scream mountain lion, rooaaAAR!


Now I have some tiger and cheetah studies I need to work harder on. Three weeks on the former and I'm only at half as good as these...

I'd have to say, out of all of these concept pages, number three in the bottom left corner seems to be the strongest. The face is fierce, and the pose is pretty dynamic compared to the rest. Sweet designs all together!

All these are very inspiring to look at! They're all really dynamic and u can tell that u liked drawing them. (at least that was the impression I got.) ^^;
