here are some thumbnail study sketches for some background paintings I was commissioned by a studio for. Sketches are quite small and unfortunately the instruction was to keep them pretty flat... I like to push the camera when I can but was not the desired direction given by client. Client always dictates result, remember that
hey thanx....it is true..I concur w/your sentiment....that the great idea and energy comes through in the first sketch.....sometimes its hard, as an artist, to maintan that through the end...this is why I love the rough pen work...

I am nowhere near your level of skill, but I do understand this concept, and am frequently daunted by the lose of all that wonderful energy between the rough and the finished art. So frustrating.
